The Sound of a System That Shouldn't Be Awake
I've been thinking about silence.
Not the comfortable kind. Not the kind you get when the world is asleep and you're the only one awake. I mean the other kind. The kind that presses against you. The kind where you realize the system you're inside is too quiet, and that quiet is deliberate, because something in the architecture does not want to be heard.
That's the world Emilia Cross walks into in The Silent Servers.
When I wrote The Eleven Minute Void, I built a protagonist who reads data the way other people read body language. Emilia doesn't trust surfaces. She digs until the structure underneath reveals itself, and then she digs further. In Book 1, that instinct led her to an eleven-minute blackout that was erased from every official record. She proved it happened. She exposed the cover-up.
She thought the conspiracy ended there.
In The Silent Servers, Emilia discovers her brother's name embedded in corrupted financial signals. Signals routing through infrastructure that does not appear on any network diagram. Servers that were hidden, deliberately, from every record. The deeper she traces the signal, the more she realizes the blackout wasn't the conspiracy. It was the distraction.
Writing this book was different from writing the first one. Book 1 was about uncovering a secret. Book 2 is about what happens when the secret starts responding. The atmosphere shifted. The research pulled me into signal analysis, infrastructure mapping, and the unsettling reality of how much digital architecture exists beyond what we see. Every chapter felt like walking deeper into a building where the lights shouldn't be on.
If you've already read The Eleven Minute Void, this is the continuation you're waiting for. Emilia is sharper, the stakes are higher, and the conspiracy has grown into something I don't think anyone will see coming.
If you're new to the series, now is a good moment to start. The Eleven Minute Void (Book 1) is free to read on Kindle Unlimited, and The Silent Servers picks up right where it left off. Two books, back to back. That's a weekend well spent.

The conspiracy didn't end with the blackout. It was just getting quiet enough for you to hear what was underneath.
